Employees can be confronted with many hazards in the workplace. Safety eyewear for industrial use, DIY or medical must be able to resist enormous pressures. Standard safety frames usually do not fit comfortably or safely over prescription glasses.

INFIELD Safety has been a recognized specialist in the field of corrective eyewear in the workplace. For more than 25 years Infield has  has placed immense emphasis on functionality and appealing design.

INFIELD Safety is a member of the Essilor Group, the global leader in eyewear lens manufacture. The success  of the group, which is represented in more than 100 countries, is based on its strategy of continuous development. From design to production, Essilor companies develop a  multitude of products for supporting, correcting, and protecting people's eyes.

Industry testing standards

Safety frames and lenses undergo the strictest of tests including:

  •  Ball drop test - Increased stability (EN166S )
  •  Velocity test - protection against high speed particles with lower energy (EN166F)
  • Flammability,  Resilience in the case of increased temperature/ageing
  •  Resilience against damage from small particles
  •  Corrosion resistance
  • Field of vision
  •  Side protection / Coverage area
  • UV protection
  • Scattered light

Only eyewear with corresponding EN marks  can be used as safety eyewear. This guarantees sufficient protection from potential hazards in the workplace. The EN marks must be engraved both on the eyewear lenses as well as  the eyewear frame.

Crizal easy® UV

As a default, Essilor Pro-Safety lenses are coated with Supra. Supra is a transparent, scratch-resistant treatment. With built-in scratch and smudge resistance, Crizal easy® UV no-glare lens lives up to the demands of daily wear. It also comes with leading anti-UV technology, to protect your eyes from the harmful UV rays in outdoor light,  preventing long-term damage to your eyes.

Optifog®

You no longer need to suffer the inconvenience or danger of fogged-up glasses. Essilor's exclusive anti-reflective  technology is also applied to both sides of the lens, protecting your eyes from direct and reflected UV light. Anti-fog molecules applied to both surfaces of the lens are activated by our Optifog® activator spray.  So instead of creating a fog, water droplets form a film that’s invisible to the eye. Each spray lasts for up to a week.  Clean your Optifog® lenses daily with the Optifog® Smart Textile and wash them with water every two weeks.

Transitions™

Transitions® Light Intelligent Lenses™ automatically adapt to changing light conditions, block 100% of  UV rays and help protect against harmful blue light, indoors and outdoors. Transitions Signature VII lenses  feature Chromea7™ photochromic technology, which gives lenses superior responsiveness to light—adapting  from fully clear indoors to dark outdoors smoothly. This is our fastest and most responsive lens in all light and  temperature conditions

Frame features

Prescription safety glasses at Leana Oberholzer Optometrist Hartbeespoort.

Temples are primarily responsible for the hold and the comfort of the  safety eyewear. INFIELD Safety offers numerous customized solutions.

By means of  the smooth metal core, the rubberized temple can be individually adjusted to the head anatomy. This ensures a perfect, non-slip fit of the safety eyewear. Frames which feature adjustable length temples can also be adjusted to suit specific anatomical features.

With some of the frames the temple inclination can be adjusted, therefore the angle of  the safety lens is adjustable for every face and every  working situation.

For varifocal spectacle lenses this feature offers the best customization options.

With its additional soft rubber adapter, the OPTOR PLUS (as seen in the picture above) provides perfect protection, especially in environments with  strong dirt development. Perfect for allergy sufferers.

INFIELD plastic safety frames, are ideal for people requiring corrective eyewear but  also desire a lightweight, easy to wear frame.  Modern styling and color combinations provide a great choice of fit and look. Some frames are also available in different sizes.

Their metal prescription safety eyewear frames can be adjusted even more precisely to match the anatomical profile of the wearer.  Because of the alloys used, these frames are very durable. The corrosion resistant coating also ensures skin-friendly wearability.
